Hi all you lovely friends of the Genderverse! We have a few updates for you! Apologies, this one is a bit long.
First, a reminder that we are still accepting EVERYTHING!
-Registration!
-Hotel Reservations!
-Dealers! (especially looking for smaller or newer queer artists/artisans/crafters!)
-Panel Applications! (Looking for fun furry content and ALSO non-furry queer-related educational or resource-related content!)
DJ Applications are not quite ready yet but will be coming very soon!!
For folks who have been trying to book a hotel room, we were just made aware that our booking page was broken!! Thank you so much to the kind person who let us know. It’s fixed now!
In case you’ve been wondering who the heck is running this thing, we now have an About the Staff page! We’re new to this, so it never occurred to us that not having one might confuse y’all until someone pointed it out to us. Apologies for that!
Finally, there have been some recent events in the community that have been concerning to us. We don’t want this to be about naming names or pointing fingers, but we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of our important values as an organization. Stay safe out there and talk to y’all soon! ✨🌈
Genderverse Furries believes in keeping furry communities and spaces safe from aggression and oppression, both overt and covert. We also believe in the right of all furries to express themselves politically and talk about the issues that are impacting us on a daily basis. We are more than just silly animals. We are human beings, most of whom are marginalized. We are queer. We are trans. We are Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour. We are disabled, both mentally and physically. We are members of ethnic and religious minorities. The list goes on.
Genderverse Furries does not in any way endorse “No Pawlitics” or any attempt to silence or dismiss furries for attempting to bring to light events, trends, groups, or individuals in and outside the fandom who are causing us harm. Yes, furry is a fun hobby and for many, that is all they need it to be. That is their choice. But for many of us, it is much more than that – furry is a community, even a family. It is the lens through which we live a significant proportion of our lives, both the good parts and the bad parts. Our experience of the fandom is our right just as much as others’ experience of the fandom is their right. Peacefully coexisting means that each of us has a voice, and Genderverse Furries believes that marginalized voices deserve to be heard just as clearly.
“There’s a saying in Germany. If there’s a Nazi at the table and ten other people sitting there talking to him, you got a table with eleven Nazis.”
